  • Myklett:

Very helpful and reassuring video. Thanks.

  • Myklett:

    Dr Siegel,
Thank you for a very informative presentation, which has set my mind a lot more at rest than it was!

    @incontinencedoc
thank you your advice is well thought out and smart.

  • incontinencedoc:

@istayhighx420 Doesn’t sound like your prostate or anything having to do with masturbation…you really should consider seeing an internist for a careful evaluation.

  • istayhighx420:

look i dunno if oyu’re the doc in this video but im 20 years old and i have an enlarged prostate. why? i did this thing while masturbating where you stop before ejaculation to prolong intensity when orgasm is reached… 5 years later, my prostate is effecting my energy, bladder, and i always wanna sleep and am irritable.the kidney thing bothers me alot. what should i do should i get surgery?

@KolorMix1 I’m very suspicious of any product labeled as “a miracle”…if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Best bet is to get to a University Hospital and attend the urology clinic. Hope that helps.

  • KolorMix1:

I’ve got some wicked pain from my enlarged postate, I took some anti inflamation pills just to kill the pain, I also saw a product called “Prostate Miracle” for $25 bucks online is it any good? I’m just a poor guy can’t affoard anything. Don’t have a doctor.

  • incontinencedoc:

@tjhumperdinck….Your doc should present you with all of the options and alternatives, discuss the advantages, disadvantages and potential adverse effects…and then the two of you can come to an informed consensus about the best way to go.

  • tjhumperdinck:

    Dr. Siegel,
I have a prostate enlargement and have a catheter. My question is do I have the right to have the laser treatment over surgery or my doctor will make the choice?

  • 272surfing:

Thank you for the good explanations. Coincidentally I’ll be in Hackensack soon.
I just got the microwave treatment yesterday. Buckled up , put on the headphones and listened to Neil Young’s greatest hits.

  • incontinencedoc:

Commonly used in Europe…might help….minimal downside.

  • 2rich4ubud:

what about taking Saw Palmetto to prevent a future problem.

  • SSSSSSandman:

Great comments. Even better follow up to the comments (Doctor).

  • alaskabridge23:

Excellent video. Thank you for sharing.

  • Northwichita:

@RunOut1724 I had mine ‘cured ‘ with Avodart, it shrunk my prostate which was giving my odd pains, and some really weird semen output which I won’t describe. I’m now tapering off the dosage may aim for 1 every 2 days.
    Good luck.

  • shonester:

    should reduce risk theoretically..

  • Aussiebun:

Thanks Doc for this educational and very informative video.

  • incontinencedoc:

The greenlight PVP is an excellent means of relieving prostatic obstruction, but can result in the bladder neck being opened to the extent that semen travels backwards into the bladder at the time of ejaculation, the path of least resistance. It should not change the sensation of ejaculation, but just result in dry ejaculations, and should have no consequences unless you desire having children. That being said, it is an annoying collateral effect of the laser for some men.

  • izzysharey:

The greenlight proceedure made me very unhappy because it gave me retrograde ejaculation, had i known i would not have the proceedure.

  • Gafmo:

A very clear and informative explanation. Thanks.

  • blastfromplantfibers:

    Very informative – thank you.

  • grprix1978:

I found the video very informative. It’s great to know what options are available for anyone experiencing BPH and in need of treatment.

  • SalPedi:

Excellent!…the doctor made it all quite clear and understandable!.. this video should have gotten many more hits than it has. I’m getting he Laser Prostatectomy pretty soon and am looking forward to not getting up that often at night.
The doctor mentioned that BPH causes some sleeplessness which I never knew was related to BPH. I’ve been having that problem which is another reason that I’m really looking forward to my procedure soon!..
