RapidArc represents the cutting edge in Radiotherapy delivery. It allows us to deliver a treatment to the prostate in less than three minutes whereas once it took greater than fifteen or twenty minutes. The benefit in this to you is that it decreases the chance that the prostate can move during the time that the radiation is being delivered. At Alta Bates Summit Medical Center we were one of the first five Centers in the US to have this technology. And we remain one of the few Centers in the Bay Area who can use this technique.
